At least four times a year I call Kangaroo Island home. But the remainder of the time, this is my family home backyard: Having the bushland in the valley means I can find interesting places and local wildlife to photograph any time. Life is good.
My Week in Social Media Circles
I left last night's #SOCADL/#SMCADL meeting wondering why I was involved with this group. I have asked myself this many a time. Their were amazing people, interesting conversations, roads to take me along new paths in all aspects of my life. Yet I still not understanding why I had chosen to get involved with this... Finding Art in the Backyard
As I have a slowly healing 'stress fracture' in my right leg, I cannot get around so easily. The usual formalities followed, including showering and dressing for work. A hearty breakfast to put some weight... Continue Reading →
Panoramic Record of Local Geography
During a walk into the Adelaide hills, I was able to take a lot of great photographs to compile these two panoramas: This very old tree is in the photograph above. UPDATE: A lighter version of 'Old Tree Fallen' (~the photograph above) is now available to purchase as a card, canvas, laminated or framed. Here... Continue Reading →
Shooting at Night
Thanks to this Flickr.com thread entitled "Night Photography Tips", we have an amazing list of points, tips, tricks and items to have when shooting night photography. I will need to revisit TED's Camera's again! I've shuffled them around, spell-checked, cropped a few lengthy personal statements plus removed a lot of duplication. Use a tripod. If... How Kids Survived the Last Fifty Years
This is how it was before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good. When we were kids there were no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets. As infants & children, we would ride in cars... Continue Reading →
