Did you get a new smartphone for Xmas? Lucky you! So what are you going to do with your previous phone? There are great options – sell it, give to kids, recycle for parts, donate to charity.
I have the best way to recycle your old smartphone, particularly if there’s not much wrong with it!
As a radio DJ, I find it useful to have music readily accessible at any given time – so this is the ideal solution!
Use it to play music!
Repurpose your smartphone into a dedicated portable media player. Whether you’re listening through headphones or the stereo, your old phone makes the perfect device for car karoke, coffe-shop runs, or singing in the gym shower. (I have never done that laat option!)
Clear all other apps and files to ensure you have sufficient storage. That way you can fit U2’s entire collection without having to delete your other favourites.
When you want to download the newest tracks, all you need is Wi-Fi, your prefered media player and voilà – turn up the volume and let the music take over.
For me it will be my extensive music collection. With my USB charger cable, it will be easy to make them available to my audience listening to my radio show every Sunday night, 7pm-10pm (til midnight on NYE 2017!) on 5KIxFM community radio Kangaroo Island!
