The spark is finally back: My vlogging journey has been reinvigorated, lit by transformation and creative fire.
Why/How? My personal life has recently shifted in unexpected ways, and the the world around us has had some massive upheavals. Consequently I refocused my blogging mid 2025 to write about those subjects.
Yet I’ve wanted to return to vlogging in-force since mid 2023. Tonight I have finally realized my new circumstances will enable me to commit both more energy and time as I will be living without interruption nor fear of reprisal.
Rebuilding My Creative Toolkit
As I repack my belongings to move into new accommodation very soon, I’ve reorganized all my vlogging tools. Thanks to a recent bout of minimalism that included a purge of unnecessary tech clutter, I’m genuinely impressed that I had the good sense to keep the gear that truly matters to my creative workflow:
- USB KLIM Microphone – My desk-based audio anchor.
- Voice Filter Stand – Clamped to the desk to refine vocal clarity.
- VIVITAR Condenser USB Microphone – Built for vlog casting, with a volume button and a broken tripod that’s begging for a DIY fix.
- Gorillapod with Smartphone Holder – My go-to for outdoor walking shots.
- Lavalier Mic – Compact and mobile, perfect for smartphone interviews and commentary.
- 2 USB LED Lights – Adjustable brightness and color temperature (sepia, tungsten, white) for mood and clarity.
- USB 4-Point Hub – Keeps everything powered and connected.
- JOBE Solid Leg Tripod – Sturdy support for my mirrorless camera.
- Canon EOS M1 with Cage – Outfitted with a RODE mic and catfur windscreen for high-quality video capture.
- Insta360 X3 – Includes attachments for my Super73 handlebars, plus accessories from my broken GoPro Hero3+ that bit the bullet days before the relationship breakup!
In early 2026 this gear will be housed in a sturdy Pelican 1507 Air Case, making it easy to transport and deploy wherever I go. I’m planning to modify the exterior and inside of the lid so that tripod legs will be screwed onto designated points so it can stand securely when closed, plus I’ll be adding cable ports to allow power leads to run inside to connected power packs. Plus key items like the microphone, voice filter, LED lights, and USB hub will be mounted for instant plug-and-play access ,ready to record at a moment’s notice.
Why Vlog Again?
This isn’t just about gear – it’s about growth. Vlogging gives me space to reflect, share, and connect. It’s a way to document this new chapter, not just for myself but for anyone navigating change, rediscovering their voice, or simply curious about the journey I have taken.
Expect new posts on fatherhood, creativity, XXY, and the small joys that make life meaningful and purposeful again. While I miss the connection I had with my wife for many years, this new beginning alone (for who-knows-how-long 😉) will help me rediscover my radio voice, lost spirit, and creative mind. Whether it’s a walk through the park with my Gorillapod or a late-night reflection lit by sepia-toned LEDs, I’m excited to let the words flow again.
Yes, I’ll be vlogging again upon my Super73ZG, about the current status of my RC Car, plus plans to incorporate my window cleaning gear – whether mounted on platforms or poles – and share new aspects of life on my own. Life is finally beginning again.
What’s Next?
The first few uploads may be raw, imperfect, and deeply personal—and that’s okay. This is a partial restart, but also a reboot of something I began long ago and had to step away from. It’s about showing up again, embracing my new reality, and letting the journey unfold within the framework I’ve already built.
If you’ve ever paused your creative journey and wondered how to begin again, maybe this is your sign too. Let’s create, connect, and grow—one post at a time.
