In early 2017, soon after moving to Kangaroo Island, I saw an advertisement in the local newspaper (” The Islander “) asking for people interested in becoming a weekly Radio Presenter at 5KIxFM90.7 Community Radio.
Within a week I had decided that pop rock from the 1980’s onward was going to be my style. It took two years to build it into “My Massive Mix for Your Weekly Fix”. My show started on Tuesdays afternoons – then I got my small business up and running. Then it moved to one night long since forgotten, until in mid 2020 the Saturday night time-slot was offered. I grabbed it and the rest is history.
I have since tried to start a second show (Rockabilly KI) but I recently decided one show was enough. Which means I have a LOT of Rockabilly CD’s ready for when I do feel comfortable with the idea.
