FYI
Built in 1839, Adelaide Government house is the home, office and base for the South Australian Governor, (currently His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR, and Mrs Liz Scarce). Government House is remarkable for its historic integrity. It was built as the home and office of the Governor of South Australia and for providing Vice Regal hospitality, and is still used as such.
It’s the oldest current Government House in Australia, and the second oldest continuously occupied house in Adelaide. Hundreds of South Australians as well as international and interstate guests come to the House each week.
When you step inside, you will enjoy the charm of the beautifully presented rooms, plus displays especially set up for the occasion and memorabilia of historic significance, including original documents. Government House is located on the north-east corner of North Terrace and King William Road, Adelaide.
