Reading Your Way into Your Future

I’m not going to steal Marc Hedlund’s thunder by simply copying and pasting his text to here: This post is the greatest piece of advice any entrepreneur will read, and every web-geek should already have read.

This is basically a summary of a lot of great proverbs collected over his working lifetime, then gave his own incite into the purpose and reasoning for each one.

Is it inciteful?

Yeah, I think so. One commenter believes it’s good enough to print and hang on the wall: I’m going one step further: I am making business-card size reminders.

I did this about twenty years ago to the greatest book in the world: “The Official Guide to Success” (Tom Hopkins).

After “How to Win Friends and Influence People” (Dale Carnegie), this is the most important book every entrepreneur should take time to read. Right through, every last word.

What are self-instructions?

As I couldn’t locate anyone who had already presented Tom’s ‘self instruction’ list, I have put them on my website for my own self-growth. Since the internet is now at my fingertips, this is ideal. Wherever I am around the world, we can turn the computer on and, hey presto, self-instructions to keep our spirits high and our self-belief strong. Great idea Stephen! (Self-complimentary statements are important.)

Entrepreneurial activities is the name of the online-game now, one that everyone who wants to make a difference should be aware of.

There are a multitude of good web sites out there, many of which give some sound advice, and many have been converted to great books for easy reference.

I encourage everyone to find that advice that helps them to step outside their comfort zone, do something different and make a difference. You only live once, so try living RIGHT NOW.

  1. My pleasure Marc.
I liked your article so much I’ve added radar.oreilly to my bloglines. I had hoped to only add your feed – but that doesn’t seem to work.
BTW, http://www.wesabe.com just will not load in my browser of choice (Firefox), whereas it takes less than a second in IE.
