Don’t Quit Until It’s Over

In my life journey, my aim is to put family first, achieve success in my small business, and make sure my health and well-being are in tip-top shape.

Whilst life throws challenges and distractions my way, trying to throw me off track, I know that if I keep going, success is within reach. Sometimes it feels like I’m taking one step forward and two steps back.

So to keep my eyes on the prize, I’ve discovered four key ways to maintain my concentration and keep it going strong.

  1. Balanced Nutrition:

I used to have a penchant for baked and fried products, which might’ve been delicious but weren’t exactly the best fuel for my journey. However, I’ve made a significant change in my eating habits.

Now I opt for fresh meat, homegrown vegetables, and fruit smoothies that include yogurt and HEMP protein. It’s like switching from low-quality gasoline to premium fuel for my body.

This shift in my diet provides me with the essential nutrients and energy needed to stay focused and keep going on my life’s path. And, of course, I make sure to keep myself well-hydrated with plenty of water, which is like ensuring my vehicle’s engine runs smoothly.

These dietary changes have been a game-changer, helping me maintain my focus and perseverance.

  1. Mindful Learning:

I’ve not only adopted effective learning techniques but also improved my listening habits in my personal life. This extends to my interactions with my wife. I’ve made it a point to actively engage in conversations with her, asking non-yes/no questions to delve deeper into her thoughts and feelings. By doing so, I’m not only strengthening our connection, I am also reinforcing my own ability to stay attentive and focused.

Moreover, I’ve developed a habit of clarifying or repeating her answers, which not only assures her that I’m genuinely interested but also helps me remember the important details. It’s like creating a mental checklist that ensures I stay on top of our conversations and the nuances of our relationship.

As for family-related matters, I’ve found that technology can be a valuable tool. I’ve started adding extra information about family, including birthdays and anniversaries, into my smartphone. It’s like having a trusty personal assistant that reminds me of these significant dates, so I don’t forget them. This simple change has not only strengthened my family bonds but also freed up mental space for me to stay focused on my life journey.

It’s the little things that can make a big difference in maintaining focus and perseverance.

  1. Adequate Sleep – From Night Owl to Early Riser:

I used to be a night owl, but it took a toll on my health and family life. I felt groggy and distant during the day. Transitioning into an early riser transformed my routine and positively impacted my family.

Early mornings provided a serene backdrop for my blog writing, with minimal distractions and heightened clarity. This change allowed me to create content that resonated with my audience.

More importantly, it enabled quality time with my family. No longer battling fatigue, I engaged with my loved ones over breakfast, fostering richer and more fulfilling connections.

Shifting from a night owl to an early riser was transformative. It improved my writing, enhanced my overall well-being, and strengthened family bonds.

It’s a testament to the power of adjusting habits to stay focused and maximize life’s journey.

  1. Regular Exercise: From Dawn Walks to Daytime Focus

It’s said that a healthy lifestyle is like a domino effect, where one positive change leads to another. As part of my effort to maintain focus, I’ve transitioned from being a night owl to an early riser.

My mornings now begin with the chirping of birds and the gentle glow of dawn. I’ve made it a habit to rise earlier, sometimes even early enough to catch the sun raising its head over the horizon. This transition from darkness to light serves as a powerful metaphor for my own transformation.

Each morning, I head out for a walk with our dog, but usually I go alone. My route takes us from Kingscote to the Bay of Shoals and then to Reeves Point, a scenic journey right here on Kangaroo Island.

This new habit has not only improved my physical health but also contributed to a sense of serenity and balance in my life. It’s as if the fresh air clears my mind and prepare me for the new day.

Additionally, this physical activity, paired with my earlier wake-up routine, ensures that I experience a deeper and more restful night’s sleep.

So, when the going gets tough, remember: Don’t Quit Until It’s Over.
Stay focused until the end, and you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve.
