Cape Borda Lighthouse

Originally only my wife, kids and older son’s best friend and his mum were going to visit Cape Borda lighthouse without me.

But at the last moment my work agreed they didn’t need me today.

So I grabbed my Canon 70D and Tamron 18-400mm, a loose shirt and wide brimmed hat to join them.

Cape Borda is about 60mins from Kingscote, Kangaroo Island. I have never been there before, so I didn’t know what to expect.

The six of us staggered down smoothed volcanic rock to a lookout, then back again.

Then we went on an organised tour of the history-buildings, then clambered up into the lighthouse with twenty other people.

Amanda the Ranger was clearly good at her job, plus a little stir-crazy from the endless amount of 5yo boys who told her where they’d visited.

Then we drove home.

Photographs shot with my canon 7D will be added to this post ASAP. The photo attached was taken with my Samsung Galaxy Note IV, and is the BBQ pergola for visiting tourists to huddle in during heavy rain and strong winds.
