Time To See A Movie or Two

I need to find time to see a few good movies.

After a discussion about “Being John Malkovich” with a work colleague (after she saw me reaching into the back of the stationery-cupboard), I was sent an email with a list of further movies I should watch. It’s an amazing list of movies that I honestly have not seen yet.

Her email started ‘your brain will thank you for watching the following films’. Being very analytical, I intend to review each one from my perspective.

Adaptation: This film is known for being clever and intelligent. It weaves a complex plot that’s sure to keep you engaged.

Punch Drunk Love: Surprisingly, Adam Sandler takes on a dramatic role in this one. Directed by the same person behind Boogie Nights and Magnolia, it promises a unique cinematic experience.

Lost in Translation: Starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, this movie is directed by Sofia Coppola. It explores the theme of loneliness and connection in a foreign land.

Memento: Guy Pearce shines in this brain-teasing and highly intelligent film. It’s known for its intricate, non-linear storytelling.

The Machinist (Maquinista, El): Written by Scott Kosar and directed by Brad Anderson, this movie features Christian Bale. It’s a psychological thriller that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat, similar in style to “Memento.”

Batman Begins: Christian Bale also stars in this one, and it’s often considered the best Batman film. It’s a fantastic start to the dark and gritty Batman trilogy.

So you can see I need to put the camera down, flick a DVD in, then spend an evening without last.fm listing my every music taste. OK, let’s do this… soon.
