Three brilliant quotes from the mouth(/fingers?) of Christian Montoya:
“I can put this technique to good use because I am a great CSS developer and I am creative. These are not popular skills but they are useful. If you put me on a team with a decent graphic designer we would do pretty well.”
and
“… also taught me an important lesson: that I don’t have to graduate to realize that people are dumb.”
and
“I don’t have to be a good designer to contribute a useful technique to the standards community, and I know that because I contribute useful techniques all the time.”
Christian, you are an inspiration to many artists, coder, site-designers and you are making a difference for all of us who aspire to do better. Keep up the good work! Feel free anytime to constructively-critique my designs: I need all the encourage I can get.

Hey, that’s awfully nice of you to say! I read the whole thread again too, and it’s crazy to look back on all of it now that I’ve improved in my web design skills.

I too have been learning the ways of web-site design for about seven years.
Some days I feel like I am darn good at all this – but then I have days where I am humbled by persons like yourself. There are many others too.
But I am glad to have clients who give me some accolades for my work.
What I find most ironic is that my clients sites are better than my own. I suspect this is because THEY know what they want … whereas I always see something new to try out. Going back to the drawing board again…
