I enjoy photography, so I enjoy finding new ways to apply old tricks to make a shot look great. Here are a few of them for your reading pleasure. I hope you find a way to apply, use, and improve upon them. Tip #1 : Space, Space, Space I try to make my subject take... Continue Reading →
Ramblings #1
Herein lies a list of ramblings that started last Monday. Don't begin to think there is a story here. It's just a whole lot of statements that I considered putting on either my Twitter or Plurk account ... and a few did, so will be linked accordingly! Watch out for the personal-quotes, created from incidents... Continue Reading →
Getting Discounts on Your Photo Equipment
As a consequence of the great customer service I received today, I now only shop at ONE retail-outlet for ALL my photographic equipment! Adelaide photographers are the most unlucky when it comes to photographic-retail outlets. Our options are limited. There are very few retail outlets within the Adelaide CBD, nor in the suburbs! And then... Continue Reading →
Talking, Listening, Learning and Getting on the WWW
Something I never thought I would one day be saying: "I am a plurker." It sits right along side "I google, twitter, facebook, wish on amazon, read on bloglines, sell on zazzle, listen on T61, and I am a redbubble veteran!" No doubt there is going to be a lot of people saying "What the...?",... Continue Reading →
Make a Home-Made Snoot for your Flash-Gun
I've had this idea for a snoot for about six months. But the issue was how to fit the square peg (flash gun) into the round white plastic ("Betty Crocker" frosting tub). Most recently a new friend ask me to assist with revamping the logo for a small-business with which he is involved. He said he believed I... Continue Reading →
Waratah or Lotus?
This was an unfortunate choice. Despite the logo being effective, strong and definite - It appears that anyone who has any botanic skills will know the flower is a lotus and not a waratah. The cost of the logo also asks two questions: CUSTOMER: How much is ANY logo truly worth? CREATOR: How much can... Continue Reading →
Three as One
These three images are of dry ground on Kangaroo Island. They were photographed about 18 months ago. Merged with them are photographs from the same farm, of chains buried in the ground when the ground was wetter, plus of water-tanks that will never hold water again due to rust-holes. Buy them before they dry out.
Getting into my Groove
One thing I always enjoy doing when I am bored: Designing or redesigning logo's. Because I have good quality programs (now!) and a creative mindset, I like seeing how I would present a logo if it were up to me. Many of them are not publishable because they are businesses that can afford to sue... Continue Reading →
