My avid readers would know I’ve been making my own smoothies for years.
I recently decided that keeping them simple and nutritious is the key. No unnecessary sugars, no weird additives – just whole, healthy ingredients that fuel my day.
My staples? Bananas, rolled oats, hemp powder, yoghurt, milk, frozen mango, and honey from my wife’s business, LSBeez KI Honey. On colder days, I skip the ice cubes, but when it’s warm, they make everything extra refreshing.
Here’s my smoothie blend that keeps me going:
INGREDIENTS to Blend:
- 1 banana
- Half a cup of rolled oats
- 1 tablespoon of hemp powder
- Two large scoops of yoghurt
- Three quarters of a cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of delicious LSBeez Kangaroo Island Honey
The result is packed with slow-burning carbs, protein, and natural sweetness to keep me full for hours. It comes out thick, creamy, and just sweet enough.
After a long day of window cleaning, I need something that helps with muscle recovery but isn’t too heavy – so I add half a cup of frozen mango to the same blend. It’s light, refreshing, and helps me recharge.
On hot days, I toss in a few ice cubes for extra refreshment. It’s simple, filling, and keeps me going.
These smoothies prove you don’t need fancy ingredients to eat well – just whole, natural foods that work together. Try them out, tweak them to your taste, and let me know your favourite combos!
