In the hidden corners of my world, I’ve decided to shake things up.
It’s not a big revolution, just a subtle shift, a journey inward to find the real tunes in my life. I’m ditching habits that muffle my inner self, the person I once was, I’m returning to the careful casual guy I was when we first moved to Kangaroo Island. Just small, intentional steps shaping my world.
Yet it’s happening slowly. I realised I’ve been on this journey since mid 2022, yet it began around 2012 when I realised how reliant I was becoming on social media and attached to the many websites that attracted my OCD.

LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram – used to be my validation spots. Now? They’re just faded bookmarks on my cyber shelf. The need for online approval is losing its grip, and I’m more into the real moments of life.

My online photography havens aren’t all gone. Just yesterday I deleted my FineArtAmerica. It never made me any money, so the value in it disappeared. It was stealing more time than adding value. Simplifying, focusing on what truly matters – that’s the goal. Less scrolling, more capturing real-life moments.

And my toolbox, oh the STIHL tools – once promising DIY dreams. Reality hit recently when I realised most are collecting dust. Selling them off isn’t just shedding weight, it’s also helping to clear the unnecessary.
The motivation is clear – reconnecting, rebuilding, renewing. Family, especially my wife, takes center stage.
I’m rediscovering life’s melody by cutting out the noise. These changes aren’t about becoming someone else; they’re about unbecoming what isn’t truly me. In this, I find joy in small, intentional steps.
As the chapters of change unfold, I step into the future with gratitude for what was, acceptance of what is, and anticipation for what will be.
