Whilst my last article was a light-handed look at the individual characteristics of twelve entrepreneurs, I have found their actually are ten different types of entrepreneurs.
You will notice that some of us meet multiple types, some only one or two, and the bonus we wish we could be.
Either way, take a close look at each and see which fits you:
- Serial Entrepreneur: This type of entrepreneur is known for starting multiple businesses in succession. They thrive on launching new ventures and are constantly seeking new opportunities.
- Social Entrepreneur: Social entrepreneurs are driven by a desire to create positive change in society. They focus on addressing social, cultural, or environmental issues and often prioritize social impact over financial gains.
- Lifestyle Entrepreneur: Lifestyle entrepreneurs prioritize flexibility and personal fulfillment in their businesses. They typically start ventures that align with their personal interests, allowing them to have a better work-life balance and pursue their desired lifestyle.
- Tech Entrepreneur: Tech entrepreneurs are at the forefront of technological innovation. They start businesses centered around technology, such as software development, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, or any other tech-related field.
- Corporate Entrepreneur: Corporate entrepreneurs are individuals who innovate and create new business opportunities within existing organizations. They possess an entrepreneurial mindset and drive change within large companies, leading to new products, services, or business units.
- Solo Entrepreneur: Solo entrepreneurs, also known as solopreneurs, run their businesses independently. They handle all aspects of the venture, from idea generation to execution, without any partners or employees.
- Social Media Entrepreneur: With the rise of social media platforms, social media entrepreneurs leverage these platforms to build online businesses. They monetize their online presence through content creation, influencer marketing, affiliate marketing, or e-commerce.
- Franchise Entrepreneur: Franchise entrepreneurs purchase the rights to operate an established business model under a recognized brand name. They benefit from the support and resources provided by the franchisor while managing and growing their franchise location.
- Green Entrepreneur: Green entrepreneurs focus on environmentally sustainable businesses. They develop and promote products or services that have minimal negative impact on the environment, such as renewable energy, organic farming, eco-friendly products, or waste management solutions.
- Innovative Entrepreneur: Innovative entrepreneurs are constantly pushing boundaries and disrupting industries with new and groundbreaking ideas. They introduce novel concepts, technologies, or business models, challenging the status quo and driving change in their respective fields.
BONUS: And then there was/is the Han Solo Entrepreneur – Getting a life-time business partner, jumping from one solar system to the next, staying long enough to make a few thousand imperial credits, always tinkering with the transportation, balancing mercenary and missionary work, tolerating insults referring to your hair-style and animal husbandry skills, and keeping alien debtors at least a parsec away.
Feel free to leave a comment below either stating which you are, or which of them you’d like to be, or if you have other examples of entrepreneurs out there in the wild…
