We love strawberries. Without a doubt they are the BEST lunchtime snack. So I was very happy when last night my wife and mother-in-law (who is staying over whilst we attend an important function this weekend) decided that the Beerenberg strawberry ‘Pick Your Own Patch’ plantation was a great way to spend a Saturday morning.
We enjoyed picking FOUR KILOGRAMS of delicious strawberries!
I won’t lie: All the strawberries I picked never got into the containers.
I spent my time walking around the plantation, photographing other pickers and points of interest. With only a 85mm Portrait lens and a 70-200mm f4 telephoto lens, I managed to get a few interesting shots. I suspect some people thought I was checking they didn’t eat too many whilst they were picking!
The Beerenberg Strawberry plantation is a great place to visit for a few hours on a weekend with the kids. But not before you drive through Hahndorf. But that is for another story…
