Looking for Logo Inspiration?

My article is not about teaching you anything new, I’m merely a ‘way-cool!’-station between graphic sites. Take your pick, they’re all equally informative and interesting…

  1. Often I found tutorials are simple ripoffs of other articles. Much like many logo’s. But not in this case . The site is easy to navigate, the article is concise and the information is relevant.
  2. Whilst others would shy away from displaying the story of the Google logo, the story is worth understanding. Google have come a long way baby.

These first few are actual stories that show the progression of a logo idea through to final result:

  1. Showing why the client is always right, as expected, but only after the artist goes through a whole progression of ideas .
  2. Whilst lengthy in the text department, this article has just enough meat to keep you interested in seeing what constitutes a good logo .
  3. This bee logo development reminds me of a honey, hive and bee logo I helped design in early 2010. I gave the client a pencil drawing from where I would start (because I didn’t want them to steal the concept). They ended up being a GIMP-student, wherein they designed the logo themselves. I still got paid for my time.
  4. Jon Hicks has been a silent mentor for many years. His story about the rebranding of Mozilla Firefox proves his value for the role.

And these are sites filled with logos, both new and old.

  1. I’ve become a ’23’ fanatic, so here is a non-random page of logo’s that should inspire.
  2. Categorised by shapes, symbols, font-style and more ; This gallery will inspire you in every different way.
  3. This list has got me thinking about a few of my personal logos.
  4. We’ve moved onto a Web 3.0 world, yet the world of 2.0 is where the use of applicable fonts truly began . At least I say so.
  5. Flickr, the biggest gallery in the world. Connect, upload and share your designs.
  6. Where designers choose their favourite logos . Some weird sense of irony here, yet it works.
  7. This list would be incomplete without another list by Jacob Cass.

In closing, here is the grandest list of logo design resources . Or so I believe.
