It is amazing what you can find when you go for a walk in the Adelaide hills. I’ve only ever seen this car from a distance (from the train), and never realised I could ever get close enough to photograph the wreck.
Postscript: I have used the ORTON-plugin with GIMP to give depth to the first photograph.
Postscript 2: That small project “Convert Trey Ratcliff’s HDR-Lesson into a simple step-by-step instruction manual usable with GIMP” is still in progress. I could have finished it sooner, but real-life got in the way!
There are old battered cars all over Colorado as well. What amazes me is the chrome bumpers. While the car is rusting apart, the chrome remains.

Hello Claudia!
Yeah, chrome lasts forever. I have photographs of 50+year-old cars where the car is completely rusted out, yet the chrome bumpers and fixtures still have many years before mother-nature breaks them down.
Thanks for commenting on my web-journal!
PS. Writing a novel online looks like fun – I’ll be sure to read a chapter or two!
