Reality Calling

Weird stuff tonight. A whole lot of seemingly unrelated things have come together at one time, in an interesting attempt to wake me up and get me back on my journey. Travel back with me so you can understand where I am right now:

Ultimate Up Shot

A few days back I bought the November 2008 Edition of Entrepreneur magazine. Although two months out of date, I felt compelled to give it a read. What a great magazine, I’ll be buying it regularly now! It was most inspiring, highly motivating and loaded with enthusiastic and interesting articles that most entrepreneur’s should and could need/want to know more about.

So I found two great articles: {1} About (Sir) Richard Branson, plus {2} 16 Lies of Lawyers by Guy Kawasaki.

After reading through these articles yet again on the train tonight, I got thinking about various ideas I’ve been considering for the last few years that I’m yet to action. Yet the first thing I do when I got home is check out where the 100+ hits of traffic on my journal are originating.

The first place I discovered was this great article that reads like a message either from one’s inner self. It could also be construed as a message from a god, but since that’s not everyone’s cup of tea, I’m going with the inner-self concept. It basically tells the reader to stop blaming the world for their inactivity and to get off the couch, get something done, even if it is small … Life is to be lived, not endured!

I like this line most:

If you want to change the way you think, if you want to change the way you view yourself, then go do it. You’re a perfectly functional human being and I think you’re perfectly capable of whatever you set your mind to.

Whilst that page was appearing, I also discovered an article of mine is appearing ‘within’ tynted.net. Not sure how this works, but it’s getting me some traffic so I can live with it. Did I do this? Cannot recall. No matter.

That lead me back to the Alltop.com Life Hacks page. It’s a great page for me, I get my best inspiration each day of the week! I like to dwell on particular articles, pondering how I can use them best to effect my outlook on life, plus where I can utilise the kick-ass-attitude to improve my lot in life.

But what caught my eye most today is this advert leading me to Guy Kawasaki’s book : Reality Check! According to one of the comments at Amazon, this book is ‘…BY FAR the most entertaining, informative, true-to-life rant on what’s good and bad about the world of entrepreneurship, business, presentations‘. Based on that alone, I’m going to purchase it ASAP.

Wow, that’s so weird. Sometimes the circles that life’s idea of reality leads us can be most advantageous!

Life’s Not Over Till It’s Over

I purchased Robert T. Kiyosaki’s “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” back in the mid 1990’s. It was a time of my life where I was attempting to revitalise myself. After refinding it amongst my many self-help books, I read it for the 2nd only a week ago! I enjoyed reading it so much that I plan to write more about that book over the next few weeks.

  1. Sometimes things come along and kind of jolt us back to reality don’t they and remind us that we can change what we’re doing. Nothing is ever static, things change and we are the masters of our own vessels (when we remember that).
